Overall Rating: 2 Location [2] • Room [2] • Service [2] • Value [2] Let’s just start with the obvious. I thought I was getting a hotel in downtown Hartford which would be walking distance from businesses, shops and restaurant’s, what I really got was a hotel with a view of Hartford from across a river. Second, my room was the size of a closet ok not that small how bout a walk-in closet. Upon entering my room I found trash and what I think could only be gerbil food... [more] all over the floor. Needless to say I was not happy with the cleanliness of the room. When I approached the front desk about my filthy room they gave me a smaller room with a "Riverfront View". My view was a tree and a lovely hill that I think lead to the river. Great view, thanks for the upgrade!!! The people employed at this fine establishment were down right rude and inconsiderate. And to make matters worse, someone stole my complimentary newspaper 2 of the 3 days I stayed in this hotel. The only good thing about this hotel was checking out. I didn't have to deal with anyone I just grabbed the bill that was so delicately placed under my door, and by delicately placed i mean crammed under and totally wrinkle to the point that I wasn’t sure what ungodly charges I incurred. If you’re going to stay in Hartford I recommend one of the following. 1 Find a good hotel in "Downtown Hartford" or 2. Stay outside the city in a Nice Marriott and drive into the city, but what ever you do don't stay at this or any Sheraton. [less]

Overall Rating: 2 Location [2] • Room [2] • Service [2] • Value [2] The hotel says Hartford but it is actually in East Hartford, CT which is about as enjoyable a place to stay as Baghdad.
The hotel is a complete dump, unclean and smells like a ball of dirt dipped in urine.
The staff is mostly high school dropouts who speak little English and act as if you are paying for the privilege to stay there.
I'd avoid stayin... [more]g at this hotel if possible. Across the river and actually IN downtown Hartford are the brand new Marriott hotel attached to the Connecticut Convention Center as well as the newly renovated and gorgeous Hilton. Both of these would be excellent alternatives to the cess pool known as the Sheraton (East) Hartford. [less]
