Well if you are planning a long term stay at the Basin then you better be ready to walk to other things away. There is very little in the hotel itself. The rooms are what you would expect from a 100 year old hotel in a market that does not have plush hotels. But if you want something with character then they have the hotel for you. Oh, if its summer, you better forget getting cold in your room on a hot day. [less]

I have stayed at the Basin quite alot before and after it was renovated it,s much better now & love the new look of the rooms not to mention the ball room at the top. The price isn`t bad to be in the heart of the historic distric where the shopping is and the drinks are high but fairly common for such places and the air conditioning sucks most of the time but hey who wants to stay in their room al... Had a lot of historical charm, nice staff, great location, good restaurant. The hotel is still being remodeled, there are rooms without modern convenience. Our room was too small for a family of four.
