Marriott Detroit Renaissance Center

I stayed at the Marriot because I was attending a conference that was held there. I made my reservations by phone and was quoted a rate of $170 per night - conference rate. When it came time to check out I was charged $220 per night, their regular rate. I tried to get the quoted rate, but they wouldn't budge. What pissed me off was that the manager simply refused to accept the fact that they ... [more]had quoted me a different rate. His attitude was "we don't make mistakes". No apology, no trying to smooth things out, no incentives.

These people don't have a clue about customer service. I am surprised Marriot would employ such knuckle heads. I guess it's hard to find good people in Detroit. Needless to say I will never stay at Marriot again. [less]

I loved the beautiful rooms, view, and friendly service. All at a reasonable price. I really enjoyed how clean everything was, the food was awesome and every where I wanted to go in Detroit was easy to find.

I stayed for two nights at this hotel and was surprised at the level of hospitality that I received. The staff at the check in counter was very helpful and accomodating. Every time I called for services such as wake up calls and room service, I received a very professional and prompt response from everyone. The room was very presentable, the view was amazing and most importantly everything was ver... [more]y clean!

I also enjoyed the location of this hotel. It was just a few minutes walk to Greektown, a short drive to Windsor, or a walk/drive to Tiger Stadium and Ford Field.

I would recommend this hotel to friends and family in the future. [less]
