I stayed at the Marriot because I was attending a conference that was held there. I made my reservations by phone and was quoted a rate of $170 per night - conference rate. When it came time to check out I was charged $220 per night, their regular rate. I tried to get the quoted rate, but they wouldn't budge. What pissed me off was that the manager simply refused to accept the fact that they had quoted me a different rate. His attitude was "we don't make mistakes". No apology, no trying to smooth things out, no incentives.

These people don't have a clue about customer service. I am surprised Marriot would employ such knuckle heads. I guess it's hard to find good people in Detroit. Needless to say I will never stay at Marriot again.

I loved the beautiful rooms, view, and friendly service. All at a reasonable price. I really enjoyed how clean everything was, the food was awesome and every where I wanted to go in Detroit was easy to find.

I stayed for two nights at this hotel and was surprised at the level of hospitality that I received. The staff at the check in counter was very helpful and accomodating. Every time I called for services such as wake up calls and room service, I received a very professional and prompt response from everyone. The room was very presentable, the view was amazing and most importantly everything was very clean!

I also enjoyed the location of this hotel. It was just a few minutes walk to Greektown, a short drive to Windsor, or a walk/drive to Tiger Stadium and Ford Field.

I would recommend this hotel to friends and family in the future.

	I stayed 7 days - of those days only once was it satisfactor

I was totally dissatisfied with the cleaning service. I was there more than 5 days and never was the room cleaned and prepared for me prior to 6 PM. Additional helf should be hired to accommodate large groups.

	Average hotel, tricky to navigate inside the building your first couple times

Pretty basic marriot hotel. If you have never been to Detroit or the Center then do you homework on navigating here if you plan to drive in. Pretty good place to stay if you want to go to any sports event or public event

We held a major conference in this venue which very well, hence I cannot fault the location. However visiting for the Auto Show was another experience entirely. We were searched and prevented from entering the hotel building because we had cameras in our hand baggage and security had imposed a 'no photography in the building' condition. This is the building with a shopping precinct, museum and the hotel!

It was a wonderful experience and the view was absolutly excellent i can't wait to spend another weekend with the marriott at the renaissance center.

my friend toke me to the renaissance hotel for dinner and we stayed in the hotel as well, it was a great experience and an amazing view of the city.

The best experience in Detroit, excellent value and warm remembering.
The service, the dining and breakfast, the decoration, everything is of first quality and very tastefull.

Summit Restaurant had Excellent Food and excellent Views of both Detroit and Canada. Easy connection to the Monterail System. Easy access to Shopping and Greek Town Overall cleanliness of Hotel and Surroundings. The hotel also had safe and easy parking. The location is the best.
