Courtyard New Haven at Yale

The old Holiday Inn near Yale's campus has been re-invented as a Courtyard by Marriott. Prices seem to have risen, but room quality is on the rise as well. Bathrooms are cleaner, and at least the floor I was on did not have that strange industrial cleansing agent smell that used to plague parts of the hotel in its former incarnations. The location is perfect for visiting Yale. The hotel is near a variety of restaurants, provides internet connection and has friendly and helpful staff.

Rooms comfortably furnished. Our ceiling leaked when it rained and the manager moved us to another room. Coffee available 24 hrs in lobby. Breakfast buffet was good but not included in room rate; selections available in the bar were limited. Parking garage spaces can be challenging to get into because of supporting pillars. We plan to stay here again primarily because of the convenient location. Lots of prospective students were staying here with their families when we visited in July. [less]
