This was a wonderful hotel. All the staff were so kind and to eat in the Crows nest was wonderful. It has a very nice decor and if you forgot something, they are more than happy to provide a replacement!

I stayed the night for a conference, even though I live in the area. The staff was friendly and helpful, although the cleaning staff didn't speak much english. The room was nice, and very clean. Great view in a corner room. The room layout was a little odd. You couldn't see the tv from the bed, and the chair and table were across the room. The hallways were a little dark. The room service was wonderful, as was the restaurant downstairs. Lots to see in the hotel, and a great location downtown.

THis hotel really stands out among the others in anchorage. It has a spirit that you cant find in other hotelss. The other els in alaska are all the same as anywhere else in the U.S. but the captian cook is special. All the workers are extremely freindly and helpful. On the way out for dinner one nihgt i asked the concierege for a refridgorator. She said no problem and when i got back to hours later i had a mini-fridge in my room plugged in. they have awesome gym/fitness center. the place takes up an entire block. there are three individual towers,the bottom floor connects them all together as does the basement. the basement is where they have seperate mens and womens fitness centers, a pool,spa sauna, raquetball courts etc. they have 4 restauraunts, fletchers, whales tail, the pantry, and the captians deck which on the 20 floor and gives an exptional view of the city cook inlet and on a clear day a view of mount mckinley. It has one of the best locations of all hotels. it is on 4th and 5 street which is where all of the tourist shops are. overall i have no complaints about the captian cook except that they do not have airconditioning in the room so if you are on the west side of the building it can get a little hot. overall i have spent about 3 weeks there on different trips in the winter and summer. in the summer you'll get alot of cruise boats coming in which causes some congestion in the lobby for a couple hours but in the winter you own the place. they have a business center with all stuff you could need. they have confernce rooms avialable for any need. from a small meeting or a large wedding.

My trip to Anchorage for the first time will not be my last trip. Captain Cook's outstanding staff was the best as I was able to view the magnificent scenery in Alaska. The views were breath taking. The staff were very helpful and very friendly and helpful. Thank you for one of my most memorable trips in my life.

Whenever we plan a getaway, summer or winter, to downtown Anchorage we always think of the locally owned and operated Capt Cook Hotel. The room service is top notch, attentive but not bothersome. The food in the two restaurants is superb, as is the food and drink in the two bar areas. Have been there for meetings and banquets - the provisioning of these rooms is always terrific.

This hotel was all that we expected. We were on the 16th floor in a two room suite not advertised on the website that we had been offered many months before our planned trip when we inquired about two rooms. What a great view and what a nice room with great views of the bay. Service was excellent and we found a few of the employees including the reservations manager to be a real joy. Would absolutely stay here again.Very close to everything we needed but offered a nice walk area too. Did not eat in the hotel because of our travel schedule but have no reason to believe it wasn't good.

I love this hotel, and stay there any time I go to Anchorage. Simply put, this is one of the most affordable luxury hotels in which I have stayed. The staff is wonderful, and will cater to your every need. The dark hardwood halls are reminiscent of the interior of an old luxury liner, or of the walls of an old, exclusive country club. I look forward to my Anchorage business trips for two reasons, Mt. McKinley and the Hotel Captain Cook.

Hotel captain cook has a indoor pool, gym, and a place to get pampered with manicures and pedicures. The hotel rooms are exceptional, and they can throw a party for banquets. It is fun.

There was nothing to dislike, every single aspect of the Captain Cook Hotel was delightful and far beyond my hopes. The rooms were fabulous comfortable with terry cloth robes in the room waiting for you. The food was spectacular in the Crow's Nest and the view was one in a million. I would love to go back some day.

The hotel also has a wonderful spa with top notch massage therapist on site, an unbelievable Salon with world renown stylists as well. The gift shops display some of the best Alaska has to offer and a pretty reasonable price.

It doesn't get much better than this for the money.

The staff was excellent, We were treated very well, we felt spoiled, I truly can not wait to go back. Room service was quick, and the food was delightful.
