a group of my husbands friends went to las vegas. the people at the imperial very very nice the hotel was clean. we had a great time. eventhough the imperial palace does not have the flash of other hotels the service is up there. having such a large group we wanted a nice hotel, but one that was not extremly expensive, we found it at the imperial.

By IP Hotel - in the eyes of the beholder

Overall Rating: 4

We've stayed at this hotel twice in two years.
Our first visit was noisy but inexpensive and reasonably comfortable and 'in the center' of it all.

Our second visit was fraught with danger, dingy rooms and less than polite staff.

If you go for the price, don't ask for a 'strip view'; for it will be directly over Harrah's bandstand. Ask for a high room in the back of the hotel - lovely desert views.
Don't depend upon their 'security' for anything beyond directions - they've heard it all before - let the buyer beware!

Their coffeeshop is the best on the strip! And their location is grand.

I love the Imperial Palace. The price for rooms are great!! 50 dollars cheaper easily then any other center strip hotel. Directly Across from Caesars Palace. Next To Harrahs. Compare the other Vegas hotels in that area on Vegas Blvd. And you will see why it is a deal!

It has decent resturants and good rooms. The decor is older Vegas but for the amount that you stay in your room does that matter? I would totally check it out if I were you. The gambling is good and the drinks are decent. The service is wonderful as well as the dealers.

By The Imperial Palace is an Inferior Place

Overall Rating: 2

We've visited Imperial Palace several times a year for a decade. We realized it was getting shabby, but liked its on-the-Strip location and low cost. On our last stay in early 2005....and it will be our LAST stay....we woke up one morning with bedbug bites. We pulled down the sheets and saw several of the tiny, blood-bloated beasts. Our blood! We didn't hear any burps, but assume the bugs were well fed. We called the desk and a security guy arrived a few minutes later. He took Polaroid photos. I'm not sure if the bugs smiled for the camera, but assume they've posed for photos there many times before. We were offered another room ON THE SAME FLOOR. When we explained that the bugs were most likely all over the hotel, not just in our room, we received a lame offer to cancel our bill. We left promptly, and when we got home, before we entered our house, we fumigated our clothes, our suitcases and ourselves.

The only good thing about the Imperial is its location. Close to most everything. The room was less than clean, the balcony door would not close properly and you could hear the music from Harrah's (next door) until 2 am or later even with the TV on. The hotel made no effort to reconcile this problem and seemed put out that I even complained. If you are there to party then this is probably a good fit but do not expect a good nights sleep. I spent more time waiting on the elevators than anything else. Often I would wait 10 minutes or more. The food is average but very reasonably priced. I found most of the wait staff to be less than friendly except for Earl. He worked the cab stand and often went out of his way to help me. He remembered my name, why I was there and where I was going from the first morning. If they had more people like him it would improve the experience greatly. Bottom line is if you are there to party and want an inexpensive room then it's probably a good deal. Keep in mind that it looks nothing like the pictures.

It is located in the middle of the strip and it is a good value for the money. Avoid the buffets they are mediocre to terrible. The Caesar palace buffet is signicantly better. This hotel is located across the street. If one does not mind the walk or cab ride eat dinner at the Rio Suite buffet. The service and room are average to mediocre at the Imperial Palace. Now that I make a higher salary I will stay at at more upscale hotel the next time I visit Las Vegas

By Trip Tutorial User from Los Angeles, CA • Good Location

Overall Rating: 6   Location [10] • Room [6] • Service [6] • Value [8]

This hotel has a very good location. We got the room at the front building facing the strip on the 13th floor. The room is fine, not too bad, but there were some load musics from Harrah's. So if you get the room at the front building, try to get the room as high as possible. I felt sorry for the customers at the lower floor (6th-8th). They were directly above the music stage. The elevator was fine, not too bad as I thought. Actually there were 2 sets of the elevators. One set was behind the slot machine and one set was right before the gift shop. The one we used was the first one but I saw a lot of people using the ones next to the gift shop which made them wait a very long long line. The buffet was not too good but anyway it was a good price compare to other hotels on the strip.

Great place to stay if your broke, not a lot to see in the hotel but there is a fun bar right outside the main entrance.

By I was robbed!

Overall Rating: 2   Location [6] • Room [4] • Service [2] • Value [2]

While my sister and I slept, someone pried open the door and robbed us!! A screw had been removed from the strike plate, which barred the deadbolt from engaging. The hotel management avoided us, and have not made any effort to make restitution. I spoke to another guest, that knew of the same thing happening to them! Be aware!!

The rooms are shabby and small.

On the good side, the food was great.
