Overall Rating: 10 Location [10] • Room [10] • Service [10] • Value [10] A wonderful value and short walk to everything! You could eat every night for a month at a different place on Granby Street, which is just 2 blocks away. MacArthur Centre was a very nice mall, and my kids loved the singing waiters and waitresses of Castaldi's Italian. The Radissson was excellent. Overall Rating: 2 Location [2] • Room [4] • Service [2] • Value [4] On my recent stay at this hotel, I was given my room key and rode the elevator to the 9th floor. When I put the key in the lock and opened it, there was a man in my room! I quickly closed the door and went back down the elevator to tell the staff.
Later, once settled into my new room, I couldn't find the remote control the the T.V. so I called the front desk. I was informed... [more] that I would have to use the game station controls attached to the television which would only reach to the end of the bed. Someone had stolen the remote and there was no offer to replace it by staff. After playing with the controls I was able to figure out how to turn the channels. I looked in the guide to see what I wanted to watch and picked a movie on a cable channel. When I turned to that channel on the T.V., it was the only one in the lineup that didn't exist. Giving up on that, I then went to get some ice and a soda from the vending machine. There was no diet soda so I went to another floor. Five floors later, I managed to find a diet soda. After drinking the soda, I went to use the restroom in my room and found myself laying on the floor. The commode was not attached to the floor and I had fallen off!
The next morning I went to the breakfast buffet and the only food item out was fruit which was highly disappointing since I was looking forward to a real hearty breakfast. Twenty minutes later, some of the worst bacon, french toast, biscuits and gravy and eggs were put out. I should have eaten the fruit and left! The one positive thing I can say about my visit to the Radisson is that every room had the Sleep Numbers beds in them. They even had one on display in the lobby which I found extremely funny since the lobby was rather elegant otherwise. The hotel is located right in the middle of downtown, across the street from an arena. Unfortunately for me there was an event and it took me half an hour to get out of down town when I left! Needless to say, my overall visit was memorable but not in a positive way. [less]
