We stopped in this motel coming from Denver, CO to visit with relatives. We checked in mid-afternoon and our room was stuffy, so we turned up the air-conditioner to cool down the room. We left to go visit and dine with family. We returned at 10:30 to our room, to find it still warmish, but it was so late, we turned the air conditioner up another notch and went to bed. The next morning, after h... [more]aving a restless and warm night, we went to shower and there was no water in the tub/shower. We went to the phone to call the front office and the phone was dead. We washed in the sink, packed up our stuff and went to check out. We told the attendent the shape of the room, she called her manager and he told us that he would take care of the bill, so we left. We were charged full price on our Visa, and after complaining to their headquarters, they sent us a check for $25.00 to help our feelings. We will not be staying the with Super 8 Chain again. [less]

I live in Dodge City and regret to know how the Super 8 Hotel is run. It is embarressing to tell people who come to our town of our motel-hotel's and then have someone rent one such as this one. The outside appearance is great but looking and staying at one is a different story. I think full refund should have been given to these Denver folks. A disgruntled Dodge City citizen.

My husband and I stayed at this motel for 4 nights the first week of August, 2005. I was very apprehensive as I had read the reviews on this website - but we had already made the reservations. We, consequently, looked at the room before saying we were definitely going to stay. We were surprisingly pleased. The room was very clean, air conditioning worked fine, bathrooms were very clean and fil... [more]led with "supplies" daily, and carpeting appeared to be new and very clean. Also, the room was cleaned and refreshed every day. The included breakfasts were very adequate and equal to breakfasts in other cities where we have stayed (including Marin County, CA, at a 4 Star Hotel.) There was no elevator, which was the ONLY drawback, and this was not a serious problem, even though we are in our early 70s. We would highly recommend this motel!!!!! We now find it difficult to believe the previous reviews. We have traveled extensively throughout the US, New Zealand and Europe and found this motel VERY comfortable and not lacking in any amenities. [less]
