The Tutwiler - A Wyndham Historic Hotel

The hotel is a bit worn but very convinently located and the hotel staff is excellent! They were very helpful and gave us very precise directions when we asked. The rooms are large, the beds reasonably comfortable and the bathrooms are good sized. The resturant is lovely but the food is not very good and is overpriced; at least for breakfast. The service was terrible and the employees were very rude. The room I stayed in was hideous. The bathroom was disgusting. I was so disappointed in this hotel I would never stay there nor would I recommend it to anyone. If you need a hotel room in this part of Birmingham there is a very nice Four Seasons down the road.

The room was too small, the hotel could use further renovation, the "valet" parking was a joke. They lost the keys to our car. We had to walk to the end to the parking lot to meet the valet to get in our car. We waited an hour to get an iron when one was supposed to already be available in our room. No in-room movies. There are few attractions or restaurants nearby. We will definit... [more]ely not go back, and this affects our feeling overall for Wyndham hotels. [less]
