For a hotel, in a West Virginia town it would be o.k., but when I think of Harpers Ferry, I think of romance. I tried to make it romantic by investing in a room with a hot tub, but at $65 more per night, it was a bit too much. Breakfast was o.k, although they did not seem hospitable with a sign stating that the continental breakfast was closed at least 30 minutes before it was to truly be closed... [more].

I do have to say that the room was clean!!! a nice thought when you are using a whirl pool tub. [less]

Although tha location was great in relation to the historic park, the hotel was far less than desirable. Upon initial check-in, the staff was excellent. They were very attentive to my needs and desires and, in fact, reduced the rate that I had locked in on-line to save me an additional $10 a night. However, service declined from there drastically.

The room was filthy to include a ... [more]toilet that had black mold growing in it and a tub that I had to scrub myself to remove layers of soap scum. Fixtures were falling off of the walls, wallpaper was falling off, and the beds had fitted sheets that were too small for the bed which meant that with every roll at night, the sheets came off. The keys also had to be re-keyed every time I returned to the hotel.

I chose this hotel partly due to the on-site restaraunt/bar. When I went in for dinner on a Saturday evening, I was told that only appetizers would be sold because the chef was new and had only been there a short while. Sunday evening, it was closed altogether.

I will not be staying at this hotel again. Spend the little extra money and stay elsewhere. [less]

I stay at this Hotel regularly and find it a great value. Business brings me here and the high speed internet is free and the staff is always willing to help. For the money it is a great clean comfortable place to stay.
