America's Best Inn - Springfield

The hotel is about five city blocks from the State Capital-definitely walking distance to the Capital and many Lincoln tourist sites. There is a decent restaurant next to the hotel, Cecils, which serves bar/grill food including Horseshoes (a Springfield tradition of Texas toast, hamburger patty or other meat, and french fries, topped with cheese sauce).

The rooms are decent. The ... [more]bathroom was large and clean, and the beds were comfortable. The continental breakfast had a meager selection of prepackaged muffins, assorted bagels and doughnuts, and cereals, along with juice, milk, and coffee. The staff was courteous at check-in. In the summer, there is an outdoor pool.

This is a good hotel for the budget-minded. It is in a very central location, with easy access to all of the Lincoln and State sites. The hotel is located just north of downtown, and is easily accessable from I-55/I-72, IL-29, and IL-97. [less]

This hotel has a great location if you are looking to stay in Springfield downtown. It is also very quiet and clean. The rooms were also clean and comfortable. They have variety of breakfast in the morning. The staff was corteous and helpful. I would definitely go back there to stay if I'm ever in Springfield.
