We've now stayed at The Galt House twice. The hotel is HUGE and nicely decorated in the common areas. The room decor has been dated (perhaps 1960's), but we thought that just added to it's charm. The hotel was very clean and quiet, even though large conventions were being help each time we stayed.

The hotel is amazingly huge and the common areas are great with some incredible views from some of the rooms. However I was very disappointed that a hotel of this size has only 1 pool which was under renovation. There was a sign that spoke about renovations but someone said that they've working on it for a long time. Their internet access is from the dark ages with nothing in the tower I was at -- used to having free wi-fi in the places I stay.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Galt for New Years. Everyone was very accomodating. We actually had left some necessary vouchers for dinner and drinks at home and they gladly helped us. The room, in the East Tower, was amazingly beautiful. Sofa, mini fridge, VERY nice tile bathroom! My only complaint about the room was the awful view of the electric facility next door. The view of the city from the Flagship restaurant was wonderful. The food was very delicious, although the decor is VERY old and ugly. Reminds me of a Hungry Pelican. The new walkway between the towers has to be the best part of the hotel. There is a large birdcage and also the lengthy bar has an aquarium the full length with native fish in it. And to top it off, it has a great view of Fourth street live to the south and the river to the north.

All in all we had a wonderful stay. The room was splendid, the service was top notch, and the food was excellent.

The famous Galt House is really a hotel before it's time.It looks beautiful inside as well on the outside and it's amazingally huge and each room is only $ 69.00 a night per person.It's located in Downtown Louisville and has a great view of the Ohio River and Southern Indiana and of course the infamous 4th Street Live where all the night life is at.Check it out for yourself you will love everything about the Galt House Hotel.What shock me was I thought it was a sky scraper at first when I first visited Downtown but thats a tall and huge hotel.It got every other hotel in the country beat hands down.It's the ace not the king but the ace of all hotels.

It was a blast the hotel made it even better. I go every year and it has changed tremendesly. It ws good then but I give it a millon fingers up if I had them. If I could I would live at the Gult Hotel.

Location and views of the spectacular Ohio River, within walking distance to "Fourth Street Live" with entertainment and food and beverage choices to satisfy every taste. The revloving Flagship restaurant offers not only magnificent views of the city and river, but one the the best Sunday brunches you'll find anywhere

The Galt House is beautiful--depending on the room you get. Look for a good internet deal, otherwise you will overpay.

You cannot beat the location in Louisville--right on the river.
