Overall Rating: 2 Location [10] • Room [8] • Service [2] • Value [2] We are Elite players with Sams Town in Shreveport & have always enjoyed going there until our last trip!!! This was mid October & we went to the Buffet to eat. We were not awfully hungry so we ate nothing but the salad bar. Lots of lettuce & trimmings. Unknowing to us or anyone else, in my opinion they are spraying their lettuce with sulfite's or something else to keep it fresh longer. I... [more]t was not very long until both my husband & I were deathly ill from this. We were both very ill all night long & most of the next day. I know it was from the lettuce as we are both highly allergic to sulfites. This is the symptoms we get when we eat lettuce sprayed with it. My husband is type II diabetic, this could have been very very serious for him, however we monitered his blood sugar & it didn't go up high enough to call 911. I told one of the hostess's in the buffet about it & there was no concern what so ever. I sent letters to Corp headquarters including a personal letter to CEO William Boyd in Vegas. No one has had even the courtesy to even acknowledge my letters. We are not high rollers so they don't give a rats rear how sick we got. This pertty well tells us how they value their players. We are easily replaceable so who cares how sick they made us.
The food in their buffet has gone way down, its always the same & really is not very good anymore & I guarantee you we will never eat there again & may even change to another casino because of this. You do not become an Elite player unless you do play quite a bit.
I am really ticked off over this that there is no concern. They could at least post a sign like some places do that they are using sulfites on the lettuce so that anyone who is allergic to it will not become deathly ill. I know it was the salad bar that made us both sick because thats all we had. I am a medical assiatant I do know the
difference between food poison & a virus. This was no virus.
I would not recommend anyone eat at their buffet after our experience there. [less]
