Because our son is a student at The University of Portland, we stay once or twice each year at this comfortable, welcoming Best Western in the North Eastern area of Portland. As you check in you are greeted by the large basket of apples that are yours for the taking. If you are lucky enough to be there on a Thursday evening--you get to enjoy the Manager's Wine and Cheese reception--wonderful... [more] local wines and cheeses--and since we are from the wine Country in Northern CA--we really enjoy learning more about Oregon's wines!
Rooms are pretty much average, some (with King beds) have microwaves and small fridges. The staff is especially accomodating and friendly. I am sensitive to smoke and have had to make some personal requesats and they have always been friendly and helpful.
The continental breakfast is actually one of the most generous in all my Best Western experiences! Variety of cereals, muffins, doughnuts, waffles, bagels, yogurt, fruit, juices and coffee and even hard-boiled eggs. All this with complimentary copies of the daily newspaper.
An excellent value, friendly staff, easy access to downtown Portland (10 minutes away by car)--who could ask for more?! [less]
