Overall Rating: 6 Location [8] • Room [2] • Service [8] • Value [4] We've gone to the Majestic 3 times in 3 years. It has gotten progressively worse each time. The room rate at the time was about $120+ a night. This included a full breakfast buffet. We also added on trips to the spa. The breakfast was good. The spa was nice. It had the original equipment it seemed, but it made you feel as if you stepped back in time and the customer service was superb. My complaint was with the quality of the room. For a hotel to cost this much I'm going to need amenities. One year I had a refrigerator. The next year I had a microwave. One year I had neither. What kept me going back was the spa services. However, on my last visit there was mildew in the shower and trash on the floors near the beds. A luxury hotel it is not. Do not be fooled by the name. Stay somewhere else and just utilize the spa. Overall Rating: 10 Location [10] • Room [10] • Service [10] • Value [10] I visited the Majestic August 2004 and I loved every moment of it. It is in a great location of town where you can walk to everything. The Majestic also have a great Spa that you would return just for. I am planning my next trip as I write this. Overall Rating: 8 Upon entering the great paneled lobby of The Majestic Hotel, you are greeted by that antique "musty" smell old building lovers relish. The ambience conjures the presence of flirty flappers and dapper gentlemen of yesteryear. This "center" was built in 1882; later additions include the room I enjoyed which was added in 1963. Our room had a balcony over looking the historic downtown of Hot Springs and I spent many hours "people watching". The pool is magnificent, large, heated, terraced along the edges. Looking up at the hotel, you feel a sense of history. Along the hallways of the older building, little things like a maid's closet remind you the age of the place, when doors and people were smaller. The Grady Manning Room, where a sumptuous Southern breakfast is enjoyed, has high ceilings and courtly wait staffs that make you feel pampered and important. I did not get to enjoy the bath and spa facilities this trip, but did enjoy touring that part of the building with its Sundry Shoppe complete with soda fountain and mosaic tile floor, bearing the name "Majestic". The elegant Grady Grill, which I did not get to visit in person, sent a wonderful meal to my room by room service, which my daughters got a real kick from. I loved it and will go back again. I feel cheated because some guests told of a ghostly sighting or two, and I missed out on those. Was this review helpful to you? → YES / NO | | By candihas2dogs from Marshall, AR • no carded keys
Overall Rating: 8 Location [8] • Room [6] • Service [8] • Value [10] Liked the retro-feeling of the bathrooms. Looked like they have not been updated since the 1940's or before. The bed was hard. Most of all I didn't like the metal key entry to all of the rooms. Once a key is lost, it can be found and used by the finder to gain access to your room. This was the experience of the couple we traveled with. We went into their room to get something around 7pm and there was a woman in their room. The door was shut & locked, and she said she was the "day maid, and was here for the dirty towels". No as it turned out she was there in her street clothes (Majestics maids wear nice uniforms) and no name tag. She was reported to night security (who was very concerned and nice), and we haven't heard the outcome of it as it has only been 3 days since our trip, but if you're reading this I would bet she is not there any longer. Other than the 1 bad experience with the "maid" I would stay there again. Oh, there are not free local calls there either, bummer for a traveler and sight-see-er. Overall Rating: 6 Location [8] • Room [6] • Service [4] • Value [4] the rooms were very small and the service was not the best. The SPA is what will take me back. It is the BEST in town. Was this review helpful to you? → YES / NO | | By • Staff very rude

I stayed at the majestic on Feb 25 There was absolutely no hospitality. We had to pay $20 to borrow a hair dryer from the hotel and the lady in the spa showed me one sample of the make-up, when I said "I don't think this ones for me." Instead of showing me a second choice she threw her hands up in the air and said, "Well, I don't know what to tell ya. Can't help ya!" I was prepared and excited to get some make-up until then.(I did't get any) It is sad cause it was my birthday. I was there in March 2005 over the Easter weekend. The weather was rainy but I still enjoyed my experience in the hotel. Thank you
Overall Rating: 8 Location [8] • Room [10] • Service [8] • Value [8] The service in the Restaurant was exceptional. The server I had was very intuned to what my needs were and took extra special care. I appreciated that. The hotel front desk was helpful with menus for calling out for delivery in case you missed the restuarant hours. This was very helpful.
I appreciated all that was done for me during my stay.
I will be back. Was this review helpful to you? → YES / NO | | By Trip Tutorial User from Ironton Mo • going back in less than a month
Overall Rating: 8 Location [10] • Room [8] • Service [8] • Value [6] Great place to stay, right in the center of bath house row, our favorite place to stroll. No need for cab money. You can open the front door and walk to any shop your heart desires. Was this review helpful to you? → YES / NO | | By Trip Tutorial User from Illinois • Dont let the name fool you
