Tongass Historical MuseumDescriptionThe Tongass Historical Museum collects and demonstrates material and information showcasing the history, art, and culture of Ketchikan and Southeast Alaska. A small permanent exhibit includes Native Alaskan artifacts from the Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian cultures. The museum also hosts traveling exhibitions from other institutions. Exhibit themes include art, history, photography, and local culture. Public programs, workshops, special events, and educational programs that relate to Ketchikan area history are also offered.
