 The attraction includes three canyons open for touring: Palm Canyon, Murray Canyon, and Andreas Canyon. In ancient times the canyons were home of the Agua Caliente, part of the Cahuilla people. Visitors can see remnants of their ancient life including rock art, house pits and foundations, irrigation ditches, bedrock mortars, and pictographs.

 Beach Boardwalk is one of the West Coast's most famous seaside amusement parks. The mile-long boardwalk has easy access to the sand and sea. Park attractions include 30 rides for adults and children, live music, miniature golf course and arcades.

 Alcatraz Island is one of Golden Gate National Recreation Area's most popular destinations. The island has seen a variegated history. It served as a military post, then as a prison. It was occupied by Native Americans. Now Alcatraz Island is open to public. Visitors can explore the remnants of the prison, military fortifications, and the West Coast's first (and oldest operating) lighthouse.

 Old Sacramento is a registered national landmark and state historic park. It has the largest concentration of historic buildings in California. Visitors of Old Sacramento have a unique chance to experience the Sacramento of the Gold Rush and enjoy museums, entertainment, restaurants, and plenty of interesting shops.

 Heavenly Ski Resort has nine mountain peaks and more than 20 miles of skiable terrain on the California-Nevada border. Skiers and snowboarders of all levels will find something to challenge them at this resort. During summer, hiking and mountain biking are among the area activities.
