The Essex Steam Train and RiverboatDescriptionThe Essex Steam Train travels alongside the Connecticut River and through the lower valley, through some of the most beautiful parts of Connecticut. It's like traveling back in time - a vintage steam locomotive pulls 1920s coaches. There is also a dinner train, for those who like to take meals in the style of 150 years ago. And those who want to continue the tour, can take a ride up the river on an old-fashioned Mississippi-style riverboat.

Take Exit 22S (Route 9 South), take Route 9 South to Exit 3 (Essex).
At the end of the ramp, take a right. Valley Railroad is on the left (across from the Sunoco Station).
From Interstate 95 North and South
Take Exit 69 (Route 9 North), take Route 9 North to Exit 3 (Essex). At the end of the ramp, take a left. Valley Railroad is approximately 1/8 mile on the left.
