Margaret Mitchell House & MuseumDescriptionThis home is an architectural find in itself, but it became famous because it houses the apartment where Margaret Mitchell had written one of the world's most popular novels, "Gone with the Wind." Margaret Mitchell House & Museum features a wealth of historical and anecdotal information on Mitchell, the house and Atlanta in general. Exhibits include never-seen-before letters of Margaret Mitchell.
The newest attraction, the Gone With The Wind Movie Museum, was opened in 1999, on the 60th anniversary of the movie premiere in Atlanta. It includes the portrait of Scarlett from the Butler house, posters, dolls, games, plates and jewelry, costumes, and other memorabilia.
