Washington Park Botanical GardenDescriptionThe Washington Park Botanical Garden is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It contains 9,000 square feet of greenhouse area and features walking trails, large duck pond, and a variety of gardens, including a rose garden, a cactus garden, a scent and texture garden for the visually impaired, carillon, and carillon concerts. The rose garden is the largest of its kind in central Illinois, it houses about 5,000 plants. The park's domed Conservatory features more than 150 species of tropical plants from Africa, Asia and South America.

Operating HoursMonday through Friday: noon - 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday: noon - 5 p.m. Closed Thankgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
