Indianapolis Museum of Art

Description

The Indianapolis Museum of Art showcases major works of art from all over the world plus a superb display of prints, photographs and textile art. The permanent collection includes notable paintings by El Greco, Rubens, American Impressionists, and European neo-Impressionists. Other highlights include one of the most outstanding collections of Japanese Edo-period paintings, more than 2,000 objects in the African art collection, and a superb collection of Turner works on paper. The sculpture garden of the Indianapolis Museum of Art includes Robert Indiana's famed LOVE.

Entrance Fee

Adults: $7
Seniors (62+): $5
Children (age 12 and under): Free
College students (with valid I.D.): Free

Admission fees may be charged for major special exhibitions. Admission to the Indianapolis Museum of Art is free on Thursdays.

Operating Hours

Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Thursday and Friday: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Sunday: noon to 5 p.m.
Closed Mondays, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's days.

Getting There

The IMA's main entrance, located on the west side of the street, is approximately one block north of the intersection of 38th Street and Michigan Road.
