Taylor House Bed & Breakfast

Description

This gracious Victorian house was built was built around 1855 for George W. Taylor, an international merchant head-quartered in Boston. Italianate style predominates, but there are some Greek Revival elements. A distinctive octagonal cupola sits atop the main house, and this shape is echoed in a number of ways within the interior of the structure.

Taylor House is located in an area known as "Pondside", which contains some of Jamaica Plain's finest suburban architecture. It is adjacent to the beautiful Jamaica Pond, a natural kettle hole formed by a pre-historic glacier. Execellent Boston restaurants are only a block away. The Back Bay, Charles River, and Boston Harbor offer beauty, history, unbelievable shopping, and fascinating restaurants.

Amenities

Taylor House provides three spacious guest rooms. The rooms are named after former owners of the house: the Taylor, Beaumont, and Haffenreffer rooms. A delicious breakfast, including fresh baked bread and pastries as well as fresh cut fruit and cereals, is served daily in the first floor parlor.
