The Main Building of the Inn was erected after in the late 1840's. To honor that period in history, all the rooms in the main building are named after whaling ships from Nantucket during the 1840's and 1850's. The Garden Wing, designed to blend harmoniously with the original Greek Revival design, was built in the 1970's. It provides more spacious, contemporary accommodation.
