Plimoth PlantationDescriptionPlimoth Plantation is Plymouth as it was in the 17th century. This living history museum depicts the life of the Plymouth colonists (popularly known as the "Pilgrims"). The Pilgrim Village recreates homes, gardens, storehouses, animal pens, fields and fortifications that the English colonists had established in New Plymouth by 1627. Costumed role players in speech, dress, and manner, assume the personalities of members of the original community. Visitors can watch them framing a house, shearing sheep, splitting wood, preserving foodstuffs, or cooking a pot of fish stew over an open hearth. Sometimes visitors can join the activities.
