Motown Historical MuseumDescriptionMotown Historical Museum was founded in 1985 by Esther Gordy Edwards. Its mision is to preserve the legacy of Motown Record Corporation and to educate people through exhibitions and programs that promote the values of vision, creativity and entrepreneurship. The exhibitions of the museum include a fascinating collection of photographs, artwork, music, costumes and other memorabilia. Visitors of the museum can see the original control room and studio, where the Supremes, the Temptations, Stevie Wonder, the Jackson 5, and many others made gold records from 1959 to 1972.

Visitors are encouraged to experience the Museum with guided tours. Tours are given at regular intervals during the Museum’s hours of operations.
Operating HoursTuesday thru Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Closed Sunday and Monday.
