Fort MackinacDescriptionFort Mackinac was constructed by British soldiers during the American Revolution. It served as a sentinel in the Straits of Mackinac for 115 years. From 1895 it was the country's 2nd National Park (after Yellowstone). Visitors of Fort Mackinac can explore 14 original 18th and 19th century buildings, enjoy informative and interactive exhibits, and watch the 1880s soldiers play concerts of military music, fire rifles on the parade ground and a cannon salute over the harbor.
