 The Largest Cow is perched higher steep hill rising above the city of New Salem. Salem Sue can be seen for 5 miles. Built in 1974, this tremendous cow stands as a memorial to the area's dairy farmers, their huge herds, and the production of high quality milk.

 Cannonball River Wagon Company proposes horseback riding trips along the Cannonball River. Participants ride horseback or in a roofed wagon. Meals are served from a eatery. You'll experience camping, wildlife beauties, storytelling, campfires. The Cannonball River Wagon Company was founded by people who want to share the scenic views that southwestern North Dakota has to offer.

The museum tries to encourage interest in, and appreciation of, science and technology concepts. Science is exciting and very important to society.  The Crane is as large as 40 feet in height and 4.5 tons in weight. This Beast is quite evasive to the usual tourist. It looks like a standing guard over the Lone Steer Motel/Cafe/Lounge just outside the city. It was completed in 1999.

 You'll always find something you haven't seen before at the North Dakota Heritage Center. Throughout the building special galleries set out the various collections of the State Historical Society of North Dakota. Unparalleled exhibits demonstrate a multitude variety of artifacts and documents. The special exhibits, whether temporary or permanent, can be found throughout the building.
