Fargo Theatre

Description

The Fargo Theatre's screen and stage are being used to their fullest potential - just as the Theatre's possesors had aimed when they designed it in 1926 as a film and vaudeville palace. On Monday, May 11, 1998 the Fargo Theatre closed its doors, removed all 870 seats and the Mighty WurliTzer (theatre's organ), and began an expectated 2.6 million dollar restoration project. From Saturday March 20 to Saturday, March 27, 1999 the Theatre celebrated the completion of this great project.

With help of restoration the Fargo Theatre has rearranged into the region's only "art house" cinema, showing first-run independent and foreign films on a regular basis. Its screen still assorts gems from the past - from the silents to contemporary classics. The Fargo Theatre remains the only theatre in the area with capabilities for 16-mm, 35-mm, and 70-mm film presentations. One can also listen to beautiful music, due to Mighty Organ.
