South Carolina AquariumDescriptionVisitors of the Aquarium can explore Southern aquatic life and travel through the five major regions of the Appalachian Watershed - the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Piedmont, the coastal plain, the coast, and the ocean.
The focal point at this attraction is a 93,000-square-foot aquarium featuring a two-story Great Ocean Tank Exhibit. It is home to hundreds of animals and plants in different habitats: Sandy Seafloor, Deep Ocean, and Rocky Reef.
The Alligator Exhibit, Swamp Snakes Exhibit, Mountain Forest Gallery, Salt Marsh Aviary are just some of other exhibits of the South Carolina Aquarium.

Getting ThereThe DASH Shuttle service to the Aquarium is available from the Charleston Visitor Center.
From Interstate 26: Take I-26 East to Charleston. Exit at Meeting St. and follow signs to "Aquarium." From points North on Highway 17: Take the East Bay Street exit, and turn left onto East Bay Street. Turn left at Calhoun Street. The Aquarium parking garage is on the left.
