Hidden Oaks B&BDescriptionHidden Oaks is a huge plantation style home situated on 1-1/2 acres in the city of Houston, built in 1927 by Samuel Ezekiel and Bessie Allen. Samuel was the great grandson of Ezekiel Thomas who came to Texas from South Carolina in 1822. Ezekiel was a participant of the "Old Three Hundred", the first 300 families to acquire title to property in Texas from Stephen F. Austin. These families were marked as historic elite. Allen's parents, Samuel Ezekiel Allen and Rosa Christie Lum, were among the most leading Texas ranchers at the turn of the century. Their cattle ranch expanded to a 13,000 acre operation. The recent property was a part of that ranch.
Hidden Oaks offers visitors the occasion to experience the old southern atmosphere within a modern bustling city.
The Inn offers two suites: a cozy, as big as 500 sq. ft. one and an upstairs apartment. The suite is featuring a bedroom, sitting room, dressing room, and individual bathroom. The bathroom has a separate shower and tub. In the bedroom, an amazing king size bed with a magnificent custom upholstered headboard is present. In the apartment, full kitchen with attachments, coffee pot and dishes is present. This is the ideal location if you are on a long vacation and wish to cook simple, homemade dishes instead of going out every night for dinner.
