The Killington Mountain Ski Resort

Description

The seven mountains of Killington are all interconnected by a system of 87 miles of trails. Killington is the largest ski resort in the Eastern United States, with the greatest variety of terrain. The vertical drop is a very impressive 3,050 feet and is the greatest in New England. This is the showplace of the American Ski Company network and is located just up the hill from Rutland, Vermont. Last year the snowmaking was expanded once again . It is already the nation's most extensive system. Base facilities have been improved and there is a new Super Pipe at the Killington base.

Snowboarding is allowed including two terrain parks and one super pipe. Killington Resort has one of the largest snowboarding instructional programs in the country. They have snowboarding events throughout the season.

Entrance Fee

The price for daily tickets is $40 - $55.

Getting there

Killington is 11 miles east of Rutland and 19 miles west of Woodstock, Vermont. The resort is 250 miles from New York City and 300 km (190 miles) from Montreal.

From Boston, take I-93 north to I-89 north to U.S. 4 west to Killington. The 160 mile drive takes 3 hours.

From Montreal, take Highway 10 east to Highway 35 south. Exit at Route 133 south and follow to Interstate 89 south. Exit Interstate 89 at Exit 3 in Bethel, VT and follow VT 107 and VT 100 south to Killington. The 190 mile (300 km) drive takes 3.5 hours.
