The Gauley River

Description

Gauley River is home to 50 major rapids including the infamous "BIG FIVE". Multitude of raft options is proposed to suit everyone's whitewater needs. Be prepared for the great thrill.

One will find the giant waves of the Lower Gauley, an ideal compliment to a full day of surfing. The Lower Gauley offers 12 miles and 25 rapids. It is also known as a place for great hydraulic surfs at Coontz Flume. World Class views can be found at Canyon Doors Rapid where cliffs rise 500 feet vertically off the river's edge. One should challenge rapids like Mash, Heaven Help You and Pure Screamin'. These trips are perfect for adventurers age 14 and older. It's also a great start as a first day of a two-day Gauley River weekend adventure. The staff is higly experienced and in spite of the trip's thrill, it is quite safe.
